An Interview is a structured meeting between YOU and an EMPLOYER. Interviewing is also like a skill, and you have to practice well to crack any interview.
Interviewing is a two-way process where employers are attempting to determine if you are in appropriate fit for the job and to their company culture. You have to fit into their corporate environment. Fresher or an experienced person applying for any job has to be aware of the different types of interviews. And has to prepare accordingly.
Types of Interviews
- One-on-One Interview : This is a face to face interview between an interviewer and you. This is the most common type of interview for a fresher who is applying for a job
- Panel or Group : Allows many individuals to interview you at once
- Second or On-site interview : This allows one to get a tour of the facility, meet the staff and additional questioning from different employees to know better about your details and behavior.
- Phone Interview : In this type of Interview the employer make a phone call to the candidate. It can be at a fixed scheduled time or it can be a sudden unexpected call.
- Case Interview : These types of interviews are common in consulting industry and focus is given more on solving specific business problems.
- Behavioral and Situational : Situational questions mainly concentrate more on the future performance rather than past performance, where as past performance is the prime focus of behavioral interviews.
