Healthy receipes with sweet potato
Sweet potato tikki
Sweet potato tikki’s serve as an excellent snack during the time of fasting and gives instant energy when required.
How to prepare:
- Get 2 medium – sized potatoes & sweet potatoes, boil them and peel their skin.
- Mash the potatoes together with salt, coriander powder, cumin powder, red chilli powder & 1 chopped green chilli.
- Make flat tikki’s and coat them with biscuit crumps on both the sides.
- Next, in pan heat oil & shallow fry the tikkis’ till they are cooked well and turn golden brown in colour.
- Serve the tikkis’ with mint chutney.
- We can also add peeved cottage cheese or paneer to mashed potatoes.
Sweet potato halwa
Desire for gajar ka halwa in this winter season, instead of that try sweet potato halwa for the change. It is easy to cook, nutritious and would not disappoint with its natural sweetness & flavour.
How to prepare:
- Get 3 medium – sized sweet potatoes, wash and pressure cook them till you get 3 to 4 whistles.
- Allow the steam to settle, open the cooker & peel the potatoes and mash them methodically.
- Keep the mashed potatoes aside. Next, in deep bottomed pan heat 1 table spoon of ghee & add the mashed sweet potatoes and sauté well.
- Add ¾th cup milk, ½ cup water, 3 table spoons sugar, cardamom powder and sauté for few more minutes.
- As the mixture has little moisture to it and is not dried off completely, add nuts and raisins to it.
