61st National Film Awards: Raj Kumar wins best actor

    NEW DELHI: The 61st National Film Awards were announced on Wednesday. Bollywood actor Raj Kumar Rao won the Best Actor award for his performance of a Kashmiri lawyer in 'Shahid.'

    Shahid's director Hansal Mehta has also won the best director award.

    Bollywood film "Jolly LLB" was named the best Hindi film, while Madhuri Dixit-starrer "Gulaab Gang" was adjudged the best film on social issues for the 61st National Film Awards.

    The "Ship Of Theseus" has won the Golden Lotus for best feature film.

    "Bhaag Milkha Bhaag" won best popular film providing wholesome entertainment.

    The best actor award is shared between Shahid star Raj Kumar Rao and Malayalam actor Suraj Venjaramudu. Geetanjali Thapa won best actress for "Liar's Dice".

    Saurabh Shukla won best supporting actor for "Jolly LLB".

    The best supporting actress award is shared between "Ship Of Theseus" actress Aida Elkashaf and Marathi star Amruta Subhash.

    Bengali film Jaatishwar won best make up, best costume design, best music and best male playback singer.

    The National Film Awards will be given on May 3.
